Air force one discovery center is an interactive historical theater where students assume realistic decision making roles in a uniquely technologically integrated 5000 square foot space. The center utilizes a mixed medium approach to learning that engages and entertains even young students but also demands that students think critically about serious complicated issues, report on their findings, and discuss their ideas utilizing high level discourse in social settings.

The project was conceived by Mira Cohen, Director of Education at the Reagan Library, who worked closely with Curtis Kelly to turn the pages of a script into a fully interactive integrated media experience. From her vision Curtis, along with his integration team of Michael Block, Tony Caraffa, and Paul Bange created a reality that includes four separate situation rooms: an oval office replica, a naval aircraft carrier, a white house press room, and air force one simulator.

Utilizing state of the art show control systems from Alcorn McBride and Crestron, all rooms experience interactive video, audio, sound fx and lighting delivered through top of the line equipment from Soundweb, Electro-Voice, Lab Gruppen, Sharp Aquos and LG.
