Working with Rush Jenkins, principal of exhibition design company WRJ Design Associates LLC., A/V Systems Designer Curtis Kelly developed an integrated design solution for this exhibit which highlights the elegant style of former First Lady Nancy Reagan. Curtis specified Sharp Aquos 42", 52" and 65" LCD monitors with custom-milled frames intended to resemble White House design elements.
Slideshows showcasing Mrs. Reagan at occasions wearing the dresses from the exhibition are fed to each monitor over a single CAT5 line utilizing Magenta Research’s Multiview video and serial command encoding system. The centerpiece of the exhibit contains a two by two video wall of Samsung Syncmaster 64" LCD monitors driven in high resolution by a Mac MINI computer running Keynote software.
A distributed audio system of Meyer MM4 speakers driven by a Soundweb London BLU-80 delivers a different soundtrack in each zone from each of the Pioneer V5000 DVD players and is powered by a Lab Gruppen C10.8X class D amplifier.
The whole system is integrated with a Crestron PRO2 control processor providing a simple two button startup and shutdown procedure for the staff.
The exhibition opened to the public on November 10, 2007 and will remain open through November 10, 2008. |
