After working amongst the artifacts at the Santa Barbara History Museum, we now have a new definition for "white glove" engineer. Curator, David Bissell, called on Delicate Electronics to help implement his ideas to enhance their visitors' museum experience. Curtis Kelly of Delicate, developed and programmed a flexible system around BSS Soundweb; a good solution for ease of system operation by museum personnel. The basis was a new audio program of themed soundscapes for eight different gallery stations burned to CD format with a Tascam CDRW-750 recorder for continuous playback on Tascam CD160 CD players. With the touch of the BSS 9010 remote, the gallery is live for open hours. Each station is covered by a JBL CONTROL25 compact speaker installed in the open beam ceiling powered by a QSC Audio CX254 amplifier channel. Another touch of the remote, the QSC CX302 amplifier powering the Martin Audio EM15 speakers, the Shure SLX wireless microphone receivers and the Sanyo PLC-XU50A projector power up at live mode levels and the projection screen rolls down for a special Powerpoint presentation in the lecture hall. The system also has a background paging option when needed. |
